PAST EVENTS

— everything that came before the start of the manga.

Before the Great War

everyone (except for Yumeno Kyusaku) is born accordingly.somewhere between the birth of Atsushi and the Dragon's Head Conflict, Shibusawa experiments on him, causing Atsushi to kill him.

The Great War

takes place 14 years before the events of the manga.a war among the nations of France, Germany and England.unclear what role Japan had in the war but Mori, Yosano and Fukuchi were involved,around the same year, Rimbaud attempts to steal Arahabaki.'The Seven Traitors' ends the war among nations.

After the Great War

Yosano gets put in isolation after trying to sink the ship they were in.Mori becomes a neutral underground doctor in a gang war.Fukuzawa, aged 32, meets Mori as he is hired to protect him.Ranpo (aged 14) meets Fukuzawa.Odasaku is an assassin by 16. He meets Fukuzawa and Ranpo around that time.Fukuzawa founds the Armed Detective Agency with the help of Natsume.Mori retires from being a doctor and murders the boss of the Port Mafia, with Dazai (around 14) as the witness.Ango goes undercover in the Mafia.Fukuzawa and Mori, along with the Government, are put together in the great scheme of things by Natsume Souseki.Yosano gets recruited by Ranpo and Fukuzawa after Mori tries to take her back, and later, Kunikida joins the ADA.

Dazai, Chuuya, Fifteen (15)

Dazai and Chuuya meets.as a result from preceeding events, Rimbaud dies.Chuuya defects from his position at the Sheep and joins the Mafia, under Kouyou's tutelage.Chuuya receives Rimbaud's hat.

The Dragon Head Conflict

Chuuya and Dazai turns 16.Chuuya kills Shibusawa's second incarnation.Oda takes 5 orphans in, after their parents die from the conflict.Dazai and Chuuya gets known as Soukoku (Twin Dark/Double Black).

Before the Dark Era

Dazai becomes the youngest executive in Port Mafia history, at age 17.Dazai recruits Akutagawa as his subordinate.

The Dark Era

Dazai turns 18.Mimic arrives at Yokohama with the objective to die an honorable death.Ango is revealed to be a triple agent.Oda's orphaned kids are targeted by Gide.as vengeance, Oda meets Gide to fight, leading to both their deaths.it's revealed that Mori let the events spiral, to get the Special Ability Permit.Dazai leaves the mafia after Oda's last words to him.

Before Dazai's Entrance Exam

Dazai asks Taneda for advice, who tells him about the Agency, but advises him to lay low for a while before a new job.around this time, when Atsushi is 15, Sigma is written into the book.Kyouka's parents are killed, and Kouyou takes her under her tutelage.

Dazai's Entrance Exam*

Dazai tries to join the Agency, and he is put under Kunikida's care.the Azure Messenger threatens the Agency, and as this case was resolved, Dazai passes his Entrance Exam, making him an official member of the Agency.the events in Gaiden cannot happen before this time.after the events of this arc, the Tanizaki siblings and Kenji joins the agency.

I'm serious about the spoilers. There will be spoilers for the DEAD APPLE Movie, the Light Novels, and the Manga.

I recommend reading/watching BSD first before reading the timeline of events.
